CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Meg Sawyer, HR and Communications Manager <br />MEETING DATE: September 26, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Consider Appointment of Part -Time Firefighter <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Will Ricci for the Part-time Firefighter <br />position in the Public Safety Department. <br />BACKGROUND <br />At this time staff has completed the recruitment process, provided a conditional offer, and is <br />recommending the approval of Ricci for the position. <br />Ricci has completed his Firefighter I & 2 as well as Hazardous Materials training and <br />certification. <br />The hourly rate of pay would be $18.66, which is the Starting Step of the six step part-time <br />firefighters wage schedule. <br />With the Council's approval, Ricci would start in the position of Part -Time Firefighter on October <br />3, 2022. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Please approve the appointment of Will Ricci for a Part -Time Firefighter position. <br />
