SCHOOL. Any building or part thereof which is designed, constructed or used for education
<br />or instruction in any branch of knowledge.
<br />SCHOOL, PRIVATE. Any building or group of buildings the use of which meets state
<br />requirements for primary, secondary, or higher education and which use does not secure the major
<br />part of its funding of any governmental agency.
<br />SELF -STORAGE, INDOOR. A fully enclosed, climate -controlled building that contains
<br />separate, individual and private storage spaces of varying sizes, leased or rented on an individual
<br />basis for the storage of personal property. Individual renters' control and access individual storage
<br />spaces and each unit must be directly accessed from the interior of the building via its own access
<br />door. Outdoor access to individual units is prohibited. Ancillary retail sales of related items, such
<br />as moving supplies, and facility offices may also be included. Such facilities to be used for storage
<br />only.
<br />SELF -STORAGE, MINI. An enclosed storage facility containing independent, fully
<br />enclosed bays that are leased to individuals exclusively for the storage of household goods or
<br />personal belongings.
<br />SERVICE BUSINESS OFF -SITE. A company that provides useful labor, maintenance,
<br />repair and activities incidental to business production or distribution where the service is provided
<br />at the customer's location, including delivery services, catering services, plumbing and sewer
<br />services, and other uses of similar character.
<br />SERVICE BUSINESS ON -SITE. An establishment that provides useful labor, maintenance,
<br />repair and activities incidental to business production or distribution where the customer patronizes
<br />the location of the operation, such as banks (not including drive -through facilities), copy centers,
<br />laundromats, dry cleaners, funeral homes and mortuaries, appliance repair, tailor shops, and travel
<br />bureaus.
<br />SETBACK. The minimum horizontal distance between a structure, individual sewage
<br />treatment system, or other facility, and an ordinary high water level, sewage treatment system, top
<br />of bluff, street, highway, lot line, or other facility.
<br />SETBACK LINE. That line that is the required minimum distance from the street right-of-
<br />way line or any other lot line that establishes the area within which the principal or accessory
<br />structure must be constructed or located.
<br />SHOPPING CENTER. A group of commercial establishments planned, constructed, and
<br />managed as a total entity with customer and employee parking provided on -site, provision for
<br />goods delivery separated from customer access, aesthetic considerations, and protection from the
<br />elements.
<br />SIGN. Any object, device, display or structure, or part thereof, situated outdoors or indoors,
<br />which is used to advertise, identify, display, direct or attract attention to an object, person,
<br />institution, organization, business, product, service, event or location by any means, including
<br />words, letters, figures, design, symbols, fixtures, colors, illumination or projected images.
