CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 21-158 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING <br />RAMSEY COUNTY INTERSTATE 35E/COUNTY ROAD J <br />CORRIDORS OF COMMERCE GRANT APPLICATION <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is currently soliciting <br />candidate projects for its 2022-2023 Corridors of Commerce grant solicitation, and <br />WHEREAS, the 2022-2023 Corridors of Commerce grant solicitation will provide approximately <br />$250 million statewide for locally led construction projects that make improvements to the <br />MnDOT state highway and interstate system and promote economic development and job growth; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County is currently planning to reconstruct the Interstate 35E/County Road <br />J interchange in 2024 and is developing a final design for this project in partnership with MnDOT, <br />Anoka County, the City of North Oaks, the City of Lino Lakes and White Bear Township, and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County was recently awarded a $10 million federal grant from Metropolitan <br />Council's Regional Solicitation to reduce construction costs associated with the Interstate <br />35E/County Road J interchange project; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County has submitted a grant application to MnDOT for 2022-2023 <br />Corridors of Commerce funding to further reduce construction costs associated with the Interstate <br />35E/County Road J interchange project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Interstate 35E/County Road J interchange project will improve interstate access, <br />bicycle and pedestrian mobility and overall congestion and safety for transportation users while <br />also creating new economic development opportunities for the immediate project area. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes that it <br />hereby supports the Ramsey County 2022-2023 Corridors of Commerce grant application to <br />MnDOT for the Interstate 35E/County Road J interchange project. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 12th day of December, 2022. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Councilmember <br />and was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote <br />being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />The following voted against same: <br />Rob Rafferty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Julianne Bartell, City Clerk <br />
