<br />WS – Item 9 <br /> <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item No. 9 <br /> <br /> <br />Date: October 3, 2022 <br /> <br />To: City Council <br /> <br />From: John Swenson, Public Safety Director <br /> <br />Re: Anoka County Attorney Funding <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The Public Safety Department and the Anoka County Attorney’s Office have a long- <br />standing partnership providing public safety services to the Lino Lakes community. As <br />part of this partnership we regularly meet with Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo to <br />discuss avenues to provide better services to our community and provide better work <br />product to the County Attorney’s office to hold criminal offenders accountable. <br /> <br />Through our partnership with the Anoka County Attorney’s Office we have secured <br />forfeiture funds from the County Attorney’s office in amount of $42,000 for the purchase <br />of Mobile Field Force (MFF) equipment, less lethal munition systems, and unmanned <br />aerial vehicles. <br /> <br />Attached is letter dated September 9, 2022 with further details. <br /> <br />There will be no additional 2022 or 2023 budgets requests related to the purchase of this <br />equipment. <br /> <br />No Council action is needed. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />Letter to Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo dated 9.9.2022
