<br />Park Board <br />January 4, 2023 <br />pg. 2 <br /> <br />DRAFT MINUTES <br /> <br />Approve Plans and Specs, Authorize Ad for Bids - December 12, 2022 <br />City Open Bids - February 7, 2023 <br />City Council Award Contract - February 13, 2023 <br /> <br />The bid package will be approximately $1.1 million dollars. <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Johnson from Northland Recreation, displayed and explained a few different <br />options of playground equipment and fitness areas that have been designed. <br /> <br />Mr. William Kusterman asked Mr. DeGardner what is the current budget for the <br />equipment? Mr. DeGardner stated $115,000 for the playground equipment and $45,000 <br />for the fitness area. <br /> <br />Resident Mrs. Mallory Humbert asked about a rubber surface. Mr. Johnson explained the <br />surface process and stated the estimated cost would be $128,000. <br /> <br />Resident Matt Bechel would like a breakout of where the money is going for the full <br />project. Mr. DeGardner provided him a breakdown. <br /> <br />Mr. Kusterman asked if there were any other surface materials besides wood fiber and <br />rubber surfaces. Mr. Johnson shared the other types of surface materials. <br /> <br />Mr. Bechel and Mrs. Humbert would like a few fitness activities incorporated with the <br />playground equipment instead of a separate area. <br /> <br />Mr. DeGardner asked Mr. Johnson to explain safety zones and ADA compliance. <br /> <br />Mr. Huelman asked about the color scheme. Mr. Bechel and Mrs. Humbert like the water <br />blue colors. Mr. Johnson stated they don’t recommend red or yellow because the colors <br />fade fast. <br /> <br />Mr. DeGardner asked Mr. Johnson if we wanted the playground equipment delivered by <br />October, when does the order have to be placed? Mr. Johnson said next month. <br /> <br />Mr. Johnson will put together some additional concepts to review at the February Park <br />Board meeting. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1.
