Review Regular Council Agenda of December 12, 2022 15
16
Consent Agenda – 17
18
Item 1D – Election Polling Place Designation – Mayor Rafferty asked if there should be 19
any concern about continuing to use Fire Station No. 2 after a busy day and possible 20
parking issues for the General Election in 2022. City Clerk Bartell explained that the 21
2023 election will be a municipal only so turn out isn’t anticipated to be especially high; 22
the facility should work fine for 2023. 23
24
Item 3C – Administrator Cotton explained that the City Clerk is retiring and her duties 25
will be handled by current staff. Ms. Lynch will be authorized to sign documents as City 26
Clerk as necessary. 27
28
Item 3E – Administrator Cotton explained that a tentative contract is before the council; 29
the council has been updated on the terms. 30
31
Item 5A – Public Services Director DeGardner reviewed the written report. Mayo r 32
Rafferty asked if residents were involved in the planning process and Mr. DeGardner said 33
there was an extensive process. Councilmember Stoesz said he reached out to Watermark 34
residents and he’s afraid that there is some confusion on the deadline for comments and 35
the council may want to postpone this into January to ensure full community input; it’s an 36
expensive project and waiting, even if it merits no changes, sends the message that the 37
City wants input. Public Service Director DeGardner expressed that there has been a lot 38
of public input and changes could result in the need for a new master plan. Director 39
DeGardner explained the process to date and the response that has occurred to hear the 40
public. Mayor Rafferty said he sees this going forward with an action at the council 41
meeting. 42
43
The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m. 44
