CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1G <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Sarah Cotton, City Administrator <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: January 9, 2023 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 23-07, Authorizing the Issuance of a <br />Special Event Permit for the Centerville Lions Ice Fishing Contest <br />to include an Exempt Raffle Permit and a Temporary On-Sale <br />Liquor License <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Gregory Kieselhorst, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Centerville Lions has <br />scheduled a special event for Saturday, February 18, 2023 on Centerville Lake. The event plans <br />include an ice fishing contest, same day raffle, food and liquor sales. This is an annual event. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Mr. Kieselhorst has submitted to the City an application for a Special Event Permit, LG220 <br />Application for Exempt Gambling Permit, and a 1-4 Day Temporary On-Sale Liquor License. <br />He has also submitted general liability insurance for the event, approved Anoka County Sheriff <br />Water/Ice Use Permit, Approved DNR Permit to Conduct a Fishing Tournament, approval to use <br />the Anoka County Regional Park boat landing to access the lake for the event, and a temporary <br />food license from the Anoka County Environmental Services. The application has been <br />reviewed and approved by staff and the Public Safety Department. The applicant has been <br />provided with a list of safety conditions. The applicant has agreed to comply with the conditions <br />and to address any other safety considerations that may arise. <br /> <br />Background information on the applicant is on file in the Deputy City Clerk’s office. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Approve Resolution No. 23-07, Authorizing the Issuance of a Special Event Permit for the <br />Centerville Lions Ice Fishing Contest to include an Exempt Raffle Permit and a Temporary On- <br />Sale Liquor License. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />Resolution No. 23-07 <br />
