COUNCIL MINUTES <br />DRAFT <br />2 <br /> 49 <br />ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT 50 <br />3A) Consider Appointment of Custodial Worker – Public Services Director DeGardner 51 <br />reviewed the written Staff report requesting Council approval of Tracie Scott to the part-time 52 <br />custodial worker position, up to 29 hours per week. 53 <br /> 54 <br />Councilmember Ruhland moved to approve the appointment of Tracie Scott as recommended. 55 <br />Councilmember Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 56 <br /> 57 <br />PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT 58 <br />4A) Consider Approval of City of Lexington Equipment Donation– Public Safety Director 59 <br />Swenson reviewed the written Staff report requesting Council approval to accept a donation of 4 60 <br />sections of 50 foot Wildland fire hose from the City of Lexington. He stated that a vendor sent the 61 <br />incorrect hose, the City of Lexington does not have need of it, and could not return it. The 62 <br />approimate value of the donation is $400. 63 <br /> 64 <br />Councilmember Ruhland moved to approve the acceptance of a donation as recommended. 65 <br />Councilmember Cavegn seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 66 <br /> 67 <br />PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT 68 <br />5A) Consider Approval of Resolution No. 23-31, Accepting Bids and Awarding a 69 <br />Contract, Watermark Park Irrigation System - Public Services Director DeGardner reviewed the 70 <br />written Staff report noting the Council awarded the Watermark Park construction project at the 71 <br />February 13 meeting. Installation of the irrigation system was bid as a separate project with three 72 <br />bids received and the low bid from Albrecht Enterprises at $104,083 and is being recommended for 73 <br />award. 74 <br /> 75 <br />Councilmember Stoesz asked about the water source. Mr. DeGardner replied it will be primarily 76 <br />from a re-use pond for the majority of irrigation and municipal water will also be connected. 77 <br /> 78 <br />Councilmember Cavegn moved to approve Resolution No. 23-31 as presented. Councilmember 79 <br />Ruhland seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 80 <br /> 81 <br />B) Consider Approval of Resolution No. 23-32, Awarding Contracts for Watermark 82 <br />Park Shelter – Public Services Director DeGardner reviewed the written Staff report requesting 83 <br />Council approval of two contracts for the open air park shelter at Watermark Park. Staff is 84 <br />recommending entering into a contract with PlayPower LT Farmington, Inc., via Sourcewell, in the 85 <br />amount of $84,283 for a Poligon Grand Haven Gable 32’ structure. 86 <br /> 87 <br />Councilmember Stoesz asked about electricity, electricity costs, and preventing people from 88 <br />tampering with it. Mr. DeGardner shared that 4 of the 6 columns will have electrical service available 89 <br />for those enjoying the park shelter. They are heavy-duty construction and there will be security 90 <br />lighting in the evening. 91 <br /> 92 <br />Councilmember Ruhland asked about accessibility and whether the play area will be flat on the 93 <br />ground. Mr. DeGardner replied in the affirmative, noting it will be ADA accessible. 94 <br /> 95 <br />Councilmember Lyden moved to approve Resolution No. 23-32 as presented.
