2 | Page <br /> <br /> <br />Businesses and Problem Recycling <br />For products that are not easily recyclable through normal curbside pickup, parks recycling, or <br />monthly recycling events, refer to the Anoka County Recycling and Disposal Directory. Household <br />hazardous waste is an example of what should be referred to the County. The Anoka County <br />Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility (3230 101st Ave NE, Blaine, MN 55449) accepts <br />common items residents may use and dispose of like aerosols (with product remaining), drain/oven <br />cleaner, mercury thermometers, nail polish/remover, insect/rodent killer, pool chemicals, <br />automotive products, and home improvement products. Another common item, lithium batteries, <br />require special recycling rules as these batteries are known to cause fires when recycled improperly. <br />These items may also be brought to the Anoka County HHW facility to be properly and safely <br />disposed of. <br />Target will take plastic bags, cell phones, and ink cartridges near the checkout stations (Figure 1). <br /> <br />Figure 1: Recycling Bins at Target in Lino Lakes <br />Office Max in Blaine will take the old ink cartridges from the copy room (Figure 2).
