Walters will pull all Green Bag Organics from other trash at the curb <br />and put it in another container on the truck and off they will go to a composting facility. As of <br />November 1st, 2022, there were 49 residents signed up. <br />State law prohibits residents from putting brush, tree, and yard waste in curbside garbage. Anoka <br />County’s Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Compost Site (7701 Main St) is available for resident use. <br />Screened compost and mulch is available to residents April through November on a first come, first <br />served basis. Unscreened Compost is free to Anoka County residents. (Figure 18) <br /> <br />Figure 18: Anoka County Rice Creek Compost Site <br />Twice weekly, the drop off locations, along with the Rookery (Figure 19) and City Hall (Figure 20), <br />need to be monitored, this is known as a “tour”. Check the bins the day before the scheduled pick <br />up and the day following pick up. Report how full the bin is (round to the nearest 25%) to the <br />“Organics Site Use” Excel Spreadsheet. Remove any contamination (Walters will refuse to pick up <br />bins with contamination).
