CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 5B <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br />MEETING DATE: May 22, 2023 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 23-17, Approving Contract with PlayPower <br />LT Farmington, Inc. for Watermark Park Playground Equipment <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting council consideration to approve a contract with PlayPower LT Farmington, <br />Inc. for the Watermark Park Playground Project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The project consists of design services, delivery and installation of the equipment, and <br />approximately 835 square feet of rubberized surface. <br />Staff is recommending entering into a contract with PlayPower LT Farmington, Inc. via <br />Sourcewell (formerly NJPA) for the Watermark Park Playground project in the amount of <br />$228,046.00. Sourcewell is a public corporation serving as a municipal contracting agency for <br />government and education agencies. Sourcewell serves member agencies under the legislative <br />authority established and granted by Minnesota Statute 123A.21. This agreement fulfills the <br />competitive solicitation and contract process required of governmental agencies. <br />Anticipated installation is Spring, 2024.
