CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6A <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Michael Grochala, Community Development Director <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: May 22, 2023 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 23-43, Approving Agreement for <br />Acquisition of Property, Water Treatment Plant <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting City Council approval of a Purchase Agreement with the owners of property <br />located at 6510 12th Avenue, for the Water Treatment Plant project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />In August of 2022 the City Council authorized preparation of plans and specifications for the <br />construction of a water treatment plant. The preferred location was identified at the southwest <br />corner of Birch Street and 12th Avenue intersection. In March of 2023 the City Council directed <br />staff to begin direct negotiations with the property owners for the purchase of 6.28 acres. <br /> <br />Following discussion the property owners have agreed to a purchase price of $351,700. The <br />City Attorney has prepared a Purchase Agreement for approval and execution by both parties. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 23-43. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
