Park Board <br />February 1, 2023 <br />page. 3 <br /> <br />FINAL MINUTES <br /> <br />Mr. DeGarnder discussed the typical playground process. <br /> <br />Mr. Huelman asked how you might get more people’s opinions in the future. Mrs. <br />Humbert stated she used Survey Monkey and sent a questionnaire. <br /> <br />Mrs. Humbert mentioned that the development placed the Watermark entrance sign just <br />feet away from where the Watermark Park sign is supposed to be placed. <br /> <br />Mrs. Humbert asked if Mr. Bill Johnson had given a quote for the final park. Mr. <br />DeGardner, stated that Mr. Johnson quoted $160,000. <br /> <br />Mr. Gooder stated that he would like to discuss the process of park design in a future <br />Park Board meeting. <br /> <br />7. DISCUSS PARK AND TRAIL FUND <br /> <br />The adopted 2023 General Fund Operating budget includes: <br />• 200 ft. of materials to fix the boardwalk in the Foxborough development - $15,000 <br />• Replace the Rice Lake Elementary basketball court - $40,000 <br />• Sealcoat two parking lots at Sunrise Park - $54,000 <br />• Paint and re-coat the pickleball courts at North Pointe Park - $7,000 <br />• Repair Country Lakes Lane Trail - $75,000 <br />The Park Board discussed potential parks and trails projects for 2023 during the July and <br />August Park Board meetings. The following projects were recommended for City <br />Council consideration in the August 4, 2022 memo that was sent to Mayor Rafferty and <br />City Council members. <br />o Replace Brandywood Park Playground Equipment (installed in 2000) <br />o Replace Birchwood Acres Park Playground Equipment (installed in 1996) <br />o Replace Lino Park Shelter (constructed in 1986) <br />Mr. Huelman asked if the recommended replacement park projects had been approved. <br />Mr. DeGardner answered no. Mr. Huelman stated that after the park projects have been <br />approved, should we reach out to the residents at this time to ask for their feedback. <br /> <br />Mr. Termont discussed creating a template for future parks. <br /> <br />Mrs. Cutts would like letters mailed to future park residents that show the design of the <br />park and a few equipment options they can choose from. <br /> <br />Mr. Gooder discussed the differences in the park process between a new park and a <br />replacement park. <br /> <br />The Park and Trail Undesignated Fund Balance is $270,990.
