APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The approval of the February 1, 2023 minutes is postponed until additional Park Board <br />members are in attendance. <br /> <br />8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. Watermark Park Update <br />Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director gave a summary of his written report noted on <br />December 12, 2022, the City Council approved the plans and specifications and <br />authorized the Advertisement for Bids. Eight bids were received and opened on <br />February 7, 2023. <br />The low bid was submitted by Dimke Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $668,265.30, <br />and Dimke Excavating, Inc. was awarded the construction contract via Resolution 23- <br />15. The engineer’s estimate was $929,912.55. WSB and Associates submitted a <br />proposal to complete the construction services in the amount of $93,454.00 and was <br />approved via Resolution 23-16. <br />Funding has been identified through the Dedicated Parks Fund. <br />The completion date for this project is October 31, 2023. <br />The resolution to approve the contract for the Watermark Park Playground Equipment <br />was tabled at the February 13, 2023, City Council meeting. The City Council expressed <br />interest in exploring the concept of designing all future playgrounds to be 100% ADA <br />accessible. This will be discussed during the March 6 work session. <br />Mr. Kusterman asked Mr. DeGardner if the City had worked with Dimke Excavating <br />before. Mr. DeGardner replied no, but WSB is confident in recommending them the <br />award. <br />Mr. Huelman asked if the bid included the shelter. Mr. DeGardner replied no. <br />Mr. Termont asked about the difference between ADA-compliant and 100% ADA- <br />accessible. Mr. DeGardner responded that this topic will be discussed during the work <br />session tonight with the City Council. <br /> <br />B. 2023 Parks and Trails Fund Update <br />Rick DeGardner gave a summary of his written report. The City Council approved the <br />following projects utilizing Park and Trail Improvement Funds: <br />o Replace Brandywood Park Playground Equipment (installed in 2000) <br />o Replace Birchwood Acres Park Playground Equipment (installed in 1996) <br />o Repurpose the bituminous pad at City Hall Park for 2 pickleball courts, and <br />possibly ½ court basketball court
