CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3B <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Meg Sawyer, Human Resources and Communications Manager <br />MEETING DATE: June 12, 2023 <br />TOPIC: Consider Appointment of Streets Maintenance Worker <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Michael Laske to the Streets <br />Maintenance Worker position within the Public Works department. <br />BACKGROUND <br />At this time staff has completed the recruitment process, provided a conditional offer, and is <br />recommending the approval of Michael Laske for the position. <br />Laske has worked as the Foreman for Barott Drilling Services in Lino Lakes since 1988. <br />The hourly rate of pay would be $28.81, which is starting step of the current 6 step wage <br />schedule. <br />With the Council’s approval, Michael Laske would start in the position of Streets Maintenance <br />Worker on June 20, 2023. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Please approve the appointment of Michael Laske for the Streets Maintenance Worker.
