CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3D <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Meg Sawyer, Human Resources and Communications Manager <br />MEETING DATE: June 12, 2023 <br />TOPIC: Consider Appointment of Part-Time Firefighter <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Gabrielle Streater to the Part- <br />Time Firefighter position in the Public Safety Department. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Staff has completed the recruitment process, provided a conditional offer, and is recommending <br />the approval of Gabrielle Streater for the part-time position. <br />Streater has completed Firefighter 1 & 2 as well as Hazardous Materials training and <br />certification. <br />The starting wage for Streater will be $18.66 per hour which is the current starting rate for part- <br />time firefighters. <br />With the Council’s approval, Streater would start in the position on June 26, 2023. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Please approve the appointment of Gabrielle Streater to the Part-Time Firefighter position.
