COUNCIL MINUTES <br />LINO LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MINUTES <br />DATE: May 22, 2023 <br />TIME STARTED: 6:32 PM <br />TIME ENDED: 7:01 PM <br />MEMBERS PRESENT:Councilmembers Stoesz, Lyden, Ruhland, <br />Cavegn, Mayor Rafferty <br />Staff members present: City Administrator Sarah Cotton; Community Development Director <br />Michael Grochala; Director of Public Safety John Swenson; Human Resources Director Meg <br />Sawyer; City Engineer Diane Hankee; City Clerk Jolleen Chaika. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Public Comment was opened at 6:33 PM. <br />Mr. Rick Wagner, 169 Glenview Avenue, addressed Council with concerns regarding his <br />membership at the Rookery. He said that when he signed up for his annual membership, he was <br />told that his grandchildren could join him at open swim on the weekends for free. Mr. Wagner <br />advised that he has brought his grandchildren with him to swim 15 times with no issues; <br />however, last Sunday when they arrived he was told he would need to pay $7 per child. He said <br />he spoke with the manager on duty who confirmed that there is no free admission but that each <br />member is granted four (4) guest passes so he was able to utilize that option last Sunday. He later <br />spoke with Lisa, the Rookery director, who told him that the rules state no free admission. He <br />asked Council for information about this as he feels he was misled. Mayor Rafferty asked Mr. <br />Wagner to provide his phone number to staff so that further follow-up could be conducted. <br />Mr. Fred Headwater, 8105 Diane Street. He inquired if the city was still considering an <br />apartment building in the vicinity of Lake Drive and Main Street. Mayor Rafferty advised that <br />developer considering the project has walked away from the concept at this time.
