CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR:Sarah Cotton, City Administrator <br />MEETING DATE: April 25, 2022 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 22-45, Establishing the Compensation <br />Plan for Part-Time Rookery Activity Center Personnel <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City Council is being asked to consider approval of Resolution No. 22-45, Establishing the <br />Compensation Plan for Part-Time Rookery Activity Center Personnel. <br />BACKGROUND <br />On June 28, 2001 the City Council accepted the Recreation and Aquatic Center Feasibility <br />Study, prepared by ISG and during the work session on November 1, 2021 affirmed the <br />opening of a Lino Lakes Recreation Center. <br />The feasibility study includes recommendations regarding full-time and part-time staffing <br />needs for the Rookery Activity Center. Staff has reviewed the hourly rates for part-time <br />personnel included in the feasibility study, as well as hourly rates of pay for comparable <br />positions in the metro area. Based on this review and to help ensure a successful recruitment <br />effort, staff is recommending the following hourly rate ranges for part-time positions at the <br />Rookery Activity Center: <br />Range Range <br />Position Title Min Max , <br />Aquatic Fitness Instructor 21.00 $25.00 <br />Aquatics Lead 16.00 $20.00 <br />Child Watch Attendant 13.00 $15.00 <br />Custodial Maintenance Worker 20.00 $25.00 <br />Guest Services Representative 13.00 $15.00 <br />Lifeguard 13.00 $17.00 <br />Manager on Duty 16.00 $20.00 <br />Recreation Attendant 10.50 $15.00 <br />Swim Instructor 14.00 $20.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 22-45.
