CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee PE, City Engineer <br />MEETING DATE: August 14, 2023 <br />TOPIC: Lake Drive Trunk Watermain Improvements <br />i.Consider Resolution No. 23-79, Accepting bids, Awarding <br />Construction Contract <br />ii.Consider Resolution No. 23-82, Approving Construction <br />Services Contract with WSB & Associates <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting Council’s consideration to accept bids, award a construction contract, and <br />approve a construction services contract for the Lake Drive Trunk Water Main Improvements <br />Project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />On June 26, 2023, the City Council ordered the project and authorized the advertisement for bid <br />for the Lake Drive Trunk Watermain Improvements Project. The project is located on the <br />easterly side of Lake Drive, between Forsham Lake Drive and Park Court. The project consists of <br />directional drilling in new watermain to loop the two existing stubs on both ends of the project. <br />This project is a trunk improvement to provide strengthening of the City’s system which provides <br />redundancy, improved pressure and circulation. <br />Bids were received on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. A total of 5 bids were received and are <br />summarized in the following table: <br />The low bid was submitted by Geislinger & Sons in the amount of $315,650.01 which is within <br />the planned budget and is being recommended for award.
