Park Board <br />June 7, 2023 <br />pg. 2 <br /> <br /> <br />FINAL MINUTES <br /> <br />6. PARKS UPDATE <br /> <br />A. Woods of Baldwin Lake Park <br />Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director gave a summary that the Parks Department <br />planted the landscape beds last week. Staff will be reviewing the punch list items with <br />the contractor next week. A few areas where the seed didn’t take off due to the dry <br />weather will be addressed in the fall. <br /> <br />B. Watermark Park <br />Mr. DeGardner gave a summary of his written report. The City Council approved a <br />contract for the playground equipment via Resolution 23-17. We are still finalizing <br />details related to the rubber surfacing. At a minimum, we plan to extend the rubber <br />surfacing to the swing set. Construction has commenced and staff is attending weekly <br />on-site construction meetings. The park shelter has been ordered. The cost for the vendor <br />to install the play equipment is $55,000. May be able to ask neighbors to help install the <br />equipment to save some cost. <br /> <br />Mr. Huelman asked if we should contact the residents and give them an update. <br /> <br />Mrs. Ballering asked how we contact the residents. Mr. DeGardner stated we had a few <br />residents’ email addresses, social media, and the HOA. We can also do a mailing if the <br />word is not reaching enough residents. <br /> <br />C. City Hall Park Pickleball <br />Mr. DeGardner gave a summary of his written report. The site was prepped and the <br />asphalt was laid a few weeks ago. After the asphalt has cured for 30 days, the painting <br />and striping will commence. The installation of the posts and nets, fencing around the <br />perimeter, and benches are also planned. <br /> <br />Mr. Gooder asked if any signage will be placed on the courts like Tower Park. Mr. <br />DeGardner stated he will look into placing signs at City Hall Park. <br /> <br />D. RLE Basketball Court Replacement <br />Mr. DeGardner gave a summary of his written report. The City has been coordinating <br />this project with CSD No. 12 staff. Work will begin shortly after the last day of school <br />and should be finished within the next month. <br /> <br />E. Arena Acres Park – Pickleball Lines <br />Mr. DeGardner gave a summary of his written report. The Pickleball lines that will be <br />added to the tennis court at Arena Acres Park when the City Hall Park Pickleball courts <br />are being striped. <br /> <br />F. Woodridge Drive Trail
