CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 3B <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Meg Sawyer, Human Resources and Communications Manager <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: September 25, 2023 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Appointment of Police Records Technician <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />_____________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Jody Boyd to a vacant Police <br />Records Technician position in the Public Safety Department. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />At this time, staff has completed the recruitment process, provided a conditional offer, and is <br />recommending the approval of Jody Boyd for the position. <br /> <br />Boyd has over 9 years of police records experience with the New Brighton Public Safety <br />Department. <br /> <br />The hourly rate of pay would be $30.91, which is Step 6 of a 6 step union wage schedule. <br /> <br />With the Council’s approval, Boyd would start in the position of Police Records Technician on <br />October 9, 2023. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Please approve the appointment of Jody Boyd for the Police Records Technician position. <br /> <br /> <br />
