Fitness Assessments and Counseling DESCRIPTION The fitness assessments and counseling with be completed by trained movement specialists. A functional movement screening will be completed at the beginning of the project. The vendor's movement specialists will assess the constituents, then follow up with the results and exercises that best meet the individual's needs. The movement specialists will offer sessions to develop an exercise routine to support those that would like to focus on improving their functional movement for both firefighting and daily living, as well as improve their overall physical wellness through exercise. These sessions are available in person or virtually to support the constituents in the best capacity for them. QUANTITY UNIT PRICE TOTAL 38 $210.00 $7,980.00 BUDGET CLASS Contractual Nutrition DESCRIPTION Nutrition services will be offered and supported by a health coach, functional nutrition practitioner, and registered dietician. Department staff will have the opportunity to track their meals, learn new recipes, and find foods that fuel their bodies with heart healthy, energizing nutrition. The firefighters will learn about macronutrients and different foods that will help their body prevent cardiovascular health events and cancer. The vendor's coaches will partner with the participants to explore what their needs and goals are. The coaches will offer accountability, education, resources and support throughout the project. Sessions with the nutrition team shall include a check-in, discussion surrounding new steps towards the goals, offer time for resources and education, and then reflection on why these changes are important to the individual.
