<br />REQUEST FOR PERSONAL SERVICE CHANGES <br /> <br /> <br />Department: Community Development Supervisor: Michael Grochala <br />Position Title: Community Development <br />Specialist <br />Budget Impact: $88,199 <br /> <br /> <br />Justification for change: <br /> <br />Since 2012 3.0 FTE’s have been eliminated from the Community Development Department <br />through attrition or elimination resulting from budget cuts. The Associate Planner, Economic <br />Development Coordinator and Natural Resource Specialist positions were vacated and not <br />refilled. Duties and responsibilities where absorbed by remaining staff, assisted by the addition <br />of a part time internship position. <br /> <br />The Community Development Specialist position is intended to provide a supporting role to <br />existing staff, provide redundancy in key professional areas and fill gaps in existing <br />services/functions. Responsibilities will include: <br /> <br />• Assist with zoning administration/code enforcement <br />• Assist with Economic Development activities including EDAC support and Business <br />Retention and Expansion program development <br />• Environmental Plan review and educational programming including water conservation <br />efforts <br />• City Code updates <br />• Housing Maintenance program development <br /> <br /> <br />Costs: <br /> <br />Salary Range = $56,160 – $70,720 <br /> <br />Travel/Tuition = $700 <br />Dues = $700 <br />Software Bluebeam/Esri = $1,243 <br /> <br />Budget impact would be partially offset by elimination of the Economic Development internship <br />position ($27,852). <br /> <br />
