5 <br /> <br />There are 18 trees that will be preserved near the disturbance area. These trees will provide 43 <br />trees worth of existing tree credit. <br />There are numerous ash trees on the site that have been infested with Emerald ash borer. <br />The following emerald ash borer infested trees must be removed: <br />• 11 trees along Otter Lake Road east of the sidewalk. <br />• Trees 208-215 in the northeast corner of the property. <br /> <br />These trees have the potential to impact public safety and cause off-site property damage. <br />All other ash trees on the site that have not been treated to prevent emerald ash borer <br />infestation should be removed as well, but their removal will not be a requirement of this <br />project. <br /> <br />Tree Preservation and Mitigation Standards have been met. <br />Open Areas Landscape Standards <br />Open area landscape standards call for 1 large tree and 2 large shrubs per 2500 sf. <br />Required for 32,000 square feet of open space: 13 large trees <br /> 26 large shrubs <br />Provided: 75 large trees <br /> 0 large shrubs <br />Existing trees that will be preserved southwest of the proposed storage area provide 43 trees <br />worth of credit. There are also 32 new trees planned for the open space area. 75 total large <br />trees were provided. <br />One large tree can be substituted for 2 large shrubs. There are enough large trees provided to <br />also meet the large shrub requirement. <br />Open Areas Landscape Standards have been met. <br />Buffer and Screen Standards <br />Outdoor storage yards require a 10 foot high screen, though the City Council may approve a <br />modification or waiver from these standards if the affected lot line adjoins another industrial <br />property. <br />The current original plan set includes inconsistent information about the height and materials <br />for the proposed fence. The revised fence plans submitted should be are consistent across all <br />plan sheets.
