<br />APPROVED MINUTES <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />MINUTES <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />August 3, 2023 <br />TIME STARTED: 8:02 a.m. <br />TIME ENDED: 9:18 a.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Andrew Cravero, Chad Wagner, Don Johnson, <br />Patrick Kohler, Steve Marchek, Nathan Vojtech, <br />Jim Schueller, <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Julie Jeffrey-Schwartz, Blakely LaCroix, Keith <br />Hembre <br />STAFF PRESENT: Michael Grochala, Julie Whitney, Claire Knopf <br /> <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mr. Schueller called the Economic Development Advisory Committee meeting to order at <br />8:02 a.m. on August 3, 2023. <br /> <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Mr. Cravero made a motion to approve the June 1, 2023 meeting minutes. Motion was <br />supported by Mr. Marchek. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />3. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Lake Drive and Main Street Redevelopment <br /> <br />Mr. Grochala, Community Development Director, stated that he was going to add an <br />item after the Apollo Business Expansions item. <br /> <br />Mr. Grochala presented the staff report on the Lake Drive and Main Street <br />Development. Leases for the property are coming to an end and the owners are looking <br />to either extend the leases or sell the property to a developer. There is potential to sell <br />to the current leaser who runs an auto sales business, or to a potential developer for <br />multifamily housing and townhomes. Interested housing developers want to make sure <br />they are get density needed and fill the financial gap. <br /> <br />In response to Mr. Koehler’s inquiries about a car dealership, Mr. Grochala stated that <br />is would be a permitted use, but likely would result in any major redevelopment of the <br />property. The committee discussed the contamination of the site and were informed that <br />clean-up would be dependent on future use and fall to the property owner at the time of <br />sale.
