Average $16.04 $18.91 <br /> Max $20.25 $28.50 <br /> Min $10.59 $13.25 <br /> *Keystone Compensation Plan Peer Group City <br /> At the October 2, 2023 Work Session, staff presented the results of the data obtained and <br /> recommended an increase in the starting hourly rate of pay from the current$15 per hour to $17.50 <br /> per hour. Upon completion of every five years of service, Paid On-Call Firefighters would receive an <br /> additional increase in their hourly rate of pay of $1.50. If approved, it was also recommended that <br /> Paid On-Call Fire personnel be eligible for the annual Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) approved as <br /> part of the Compensation Plan for non-union employees. Staff's recommendation presented at the <br /> October 2, 2023 Work Session is summarized in the following table: <br /> Option A <br /> Starting Upon Upon Upon Upon <br /> Wage Completion of 5 Completion of 10 Completion of 15 Completion of 20 <br /> Years of Service Years of Service Years of Service Years of Service <br /> 2023 $ 17.50 $ 19.00 $ 20.50 $ 22.00 $ 23.50 <br /> 2024 $ 18.16 $ 19.71 $ 21.27 $ 22.83 $ 24.38 <br /> The recommended increase in the starting hourly wage is 9% over the researched average starting <br /> hourly rate of pay. The 2024 budget impact of the staff recommendation is approximately $17,650 <br /> which is already accounted for within the proposed contingency budget. <br /> After much discussion,the Council directed staff to prepare alternatives to the staff recommendation, <br /> including an option with a starting wage of$19 per hour, in which upon completion of every five years <br /> of service, POC personnel would receive an additional increase in their hourly rate of pay of $1 per <br /> hour, and an option with a starting wage of $21 per hour, in which upon completion of every five <br /> years of service, POC personnel would receive an additional increase in their hourly rate of pay of <br /> $1.50 per hour.
