1 <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 6B <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Katie Larsen, City Planner <br />MEETING DATE: October 23, 2023 <br />TOPIC: Consider 2nd Reading of Ordinance No. 13-23 Zoning <br />Ordinance Text Amendment-General Updates <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Ordinance No. 08-22 amending City Code Chapter 1007: Zoning Code was adopted in <br />November 2022 and went into effect in January 2023. When administering a new zoning code, <br />it is not uncommon to find language that needs to be amended or typos that need to be <br />corrected. <br />The 1st reading of the ordinance was approved by Council on October 9, 2023. <br />The following is a summary of proposed zoning code amendments. Strikethrough is deleted <br />text, underline is new text. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Recreational Businesses <br />The new ordinance only allows for indoor recreational businesses as permitted uses in the GB, <br />General Business and LI, Light Industrial districts. Staff recommends these permitted uses also <br />be allowed in all business districts and the GI, General Industrial district. <br />•Proposed Amendment <br />Section 1007.110 NB, Neighborhood Business District. <br />(6)Permitted Uses. The following are permitted uses in the NB District: <br />(a)Adult use – accessory.
