November 27, 2023
Katie Larsen,
In regards to the preliminary plan review of the proposed storage facility located at 440 Park Court,
the Fire Department’s main concerns are the ability of fire apparatus and fire personnel access to
and around the building. The apparatus turning radius model shown, appears to be very tight and
two of the preliminary plans contradict each other; one model depicts fire apparatus access to the
west side of the building with a parking lot and the other set of plans has a curb drawn at the
northwest corner of the building, hindering fire apparatus access. Another concern is on the east
side of the building, there is an unloading zone that can block fire apparatus access to the southeast
corner if a vehicle is parked in the unloading zone and there is a fence on the southeast corner of
the building that will require an access gate for firefighters to reach the south side of the building.
Brian Finke
Fire Lieutenant/Fire Inspector
651-982-2464
bfinke@linolakes.us
Public Safety Director John Swenson
640 TownCenterParkway• Lino Lakes,Minnesota• 55014-1182
Public Administration/Records: 651-982-2300
www.ci.lino-lakes.mn.us
Attachment 4: Lino Lakes Fire Division Memo dated November 27, 2023
111
