Lino Lakes Local Water Management Plan Summary <br />January 2, 2018 <br />3 | P a g e <br /> <br />- The implementation of a multi-functional greenway corridor in Northeast Lino Lakes to address the <br />existing and future flooding concerns with Anoka County Ditches 55 and 72, including modifying <br />existing ordinances to ensure implementation of all water quality, flood control, and natural <br />resources components during development through the Northeast Lino Lakes Comprehensive <br />Stormwater Management Plan <br />· Evaluation of streambank erosion along ACD 10-22-32 and Clearwater Creek <br />· Implement the City’s Wellhead Protection Plan and Water Conservation Management Plans <br />· Incorporate pollinator habitat in future city projects <br />· Educate residents and local businesses on smart irrigation and alternative landscaping options to reduce <br />water use <br /> <br />Continuing Activities <br /> <br />· Establish and adopt Better Site Design (BSD) strategies for new development and provide guidance for <br />staff, City Boards, and City Council <br />· Protect high priority wetlands and high-quality habitats from stormwater runoff <br />· The City of Lino Lakes will continue to address the Total Maximum Daily Loads to address nutrient, mercury <br />and bacteria impairments in its surface waters. <br />· The City of Lino Lakes will continue to work with regulating agencies to monitor, inspect and maintain the <br />existing stormwater infrastructure, best management practices, and additional requirements as specified in <br />the City’s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan. <br />· The City of Lino Lakes will review its existing policies, regulations, and ordinances to ensure the applicable <br />ordinances and requirements are in line with the City’s needs and desires, as well as with all applicable <br />higher regulations, including: <br />- Better Side Design standards, <br />- Maximum impervious percentage limits, and <br />- Road design standards. <br />· The City will also continue its efforts to obtain grant funding for future water quality, flood control, invasive <br />species and groundwater protection projects. <br />
