Due to fire <br />code requirements that limit the square footage of the facility the existing Public Works building cannot be expanded unless municipal water is brought <br />to the site. The additions to this facility include 4 separate buildings. The majority of the vehicles are stored outdoors, which inherently reduces their <br />life span. Equipment is currently stored in 3 buildings and is not conducive to an efficient work flow. The building has water damage and leaking in <br />several locations. <br />The current Vehicle Maintenance area and tool <br />storage area does not provide adequate space to <br />service the city’s fleet of vehicles.
