Public Safety Department Quarterly Update – Public Safety Director Swenson 14 <br />reviewed a PowerPoint presentation. The presentation is on file. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Highlighted: 17 <br />- Medical call numbers are driven by services to the city’s assisted living facilities; 18 <br />Director Swenson explained that he is researching further the data on those calls; 19 <br />Mayor offered comments regarding the need to careful plan for additional senior 20 <br />facilities into the future; 21 <br />- Mutual aid given and received; 22 <br />- Regarding criminal offense numbers, Director Swenson noted that the numbers 23 <br />could be in flux based on changing factors; 24 <br />- Increase in domestic assaults; discussions underway to work in that area; 25 <br />- DWI is up probably just because of more stops; the department is working toward 26 <br />utilizing forfeiture funds for a safe ride home program for residents; 27 <br />- Clearance rate is high and that indicates good work by the department staff; 28 <br />- Notable events. 29 <br /> 30 <br />The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m. 31 <br /> 32 <br />These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at the regular Council meeting held on 33 <br />February 12, 2018. 34 <br /> 35 <br /> 36 <br /> 37 <br /> 38 <br />Julianne Bartell, City Clerk Jeff Reinert, Mayor 39 <br /> 40
