Consider Resolution 18-14, Authorize the Preparation <br />of Plans and Specifications, 2018 Mill and Overlay <br />Project <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The City Council authorized the 2017 Pavement Management Report on September 25, 2017 to <br />evaluate the current condition of the City’s roadway system and to generate a 5-year Capital <br />Improvement Plan. The 2017 Pavement Management Report was presented at the Council on <br />February 5, 2018 along with the proposed 5-year Capital Improvement Plan. <br /> <br />The proposed 2018 Mill and Overlay project includes Ware Road and the Brandywood <br />neighborhood. After further evaluation of pavement ratings and pavement core data completed <br />in the Brandywood area it was determined that this was a priority. The estimated project cost is <br />$715,000. The project would be funded through the pavement management budget and state aid <br />funds. The project includes the following roadways: <br /> <br />Ware Road (Ash Street to 300’ south of Birch Street) <br />Buckthorn Lane <br />White Oak Road <br />Whitetail Trail <br />Chokecherry Road <br />Velvetleaf Lane <br /> <br />The proposed schedule for this project is as follows: <br /> <br /> City Council Authorizes Plans and Spec’s Feb. 12, 2018 <br /> City Council Orders Project & Approves Plans and Specifications Mar. 12, 2018 <br /> City Council Authorizes Ad for Bids Mar. 12, 2018 <br /> City Open Bids April 16, 2018 <br /> City Council Awards Contract April 23, 2018
