Consider Resolution No. 18-39, Approving Cost-Share <br />Agreement with RCWD, West Shadow Lake Drive Sanitary <br />Extension. <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting City Council consideration to approve Cost-Share Agreements with the Rice <br />Creek Watershed District (RCWD) for the LaMotte and West Shadow Lake Area Improvement <br />Projects. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The City Council authorized preparation of plans and specifications for the LaMotte Area and <br />West Shadow Lake Area Improvement Project on August 14, 2017. As part of the design and <br />permitting process the City applied for grant funding through the RCWD 2018 Urban <br />Stormwater Remediation Cost-Share (USWR) Program. <br /> <br />The City was awarded $39,500 for the LaMotte Project and $47,500 for the West Shadow Lake <br />project. Both projects include infrastructure improvements that implement the Peltier/Centerville <br />and Anoka Chain of Lakes Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) water quality standards. The <br />LaMotte project includes the construction of a biofiltration basin (rain garden) and the West <br />Shadow Lake project proposes the extension of sanitary sewer. <br /> <br />The RCWD has requested acceptance of the funding by May 18, 2018. The project must be <br />completed by December 31, 2020. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 18-38 and Resolution No. 18-39. <br />
