Motion carried on a voice vote. Council Member 94 <br />Maher voted no. 95 <br /> 96 <br />ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT 97 <br /> 98 <br />3A) Consider Increasing the Building Inspection Temporary Support Staff Budget – Human 99 <br />Resources Manager Bartholomew reviewed the written report. An additional temporary position is 100 <br />being requested based on outstanding and anticipated permit inspection needs. 101 <br /> 102 <br />Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the filling of the temporary position as recommended. 103 <br />Council Member Maher seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 104 <br /> 105 <br />3B) Consider Appointment of Utilities Maintenance Worker – Human Resources Manager 106 <br />Bartholomew reviewed her written report recommending the hiring of Tim Paulno. She reviewed the 107 <br />applicant’s qualifications and professional accredidations. The hourly rate of pay was reviewed as 108 <br />well as the proposed starting date. 109 <br /> 110 <br />Director DeGardner was asked to review the position. He explained that the addition of this position 111 <br />has been considered by staff for three or four years and now it has reached a point where day to day 112 <br />responsibilities require this addition. The position was discussed as part of the 2018 budget and the 113 <br />position was authorized. He mentioned the pending retirement of the Utility Supervisor that could 114 <br />also have an impact how this division will be able to perform necessary functions. 115 <br /> 116 <br />Council Member Rafferty reiterated that it would be helpful to have more information ahead of the 117 <br />hiring action being requested. 118 <br /> 119 <br />Council Member Maher moved to approve the hiring of Tim Paulno as recommended. Council 120 <br />Member Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 121 <br /> 122 <br />3C) Consider Appointment of Administrative Assistant – Human Resources Manager 123 <br />Bartholomew asked that the council approve the hiring of Kellie Smith. She explained how the 124 <br />position became open, the candidate’s qualifications, the proposed salary step and hiring date. 125 <br /> 126 <br />Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the hiring of Kellie Smith as recommended. Council 127 <br />Member Maher seconded the motion.
