1 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6B <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Katie Larsen, City Planner <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: June 25, 2018 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider Second Reading of Ordinance No. 06-18 Rezoning <br />Property from R-1, Single Family Residential to PUD, Planned <br />Unit Development for Saddle Club Fourth Addition <br /> <br /> *Council may vote to dispense with full reading of ordinance <br /> * Roll call vote is required for adoption of the ordinance <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting City Council consideration of the 2nd reading of the proposed ordinance to <br />rezone property from R-1, Single Family Residential to PUD, Planned Unit Development for <br />Saddle Club Fourth Addition. The 1st reading was approved by Council on June 11, 2018. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The applicant, Royal Oaks Realty, Inc., submitted a land use application for rezoning and PUD <br />Development Stage/Preliminary Plat review. The proposed residential development is an 8 lot <br />single family conservation subdivision located north of Foxborough and west of Saddle Club. It <br />contains 1 parcel totaling approximately 5.25 gross acres. The development is called Saddle Club <br />Fourth Addition. <br /> <br />The property requires rezoning to PUD, Planned Unit Development to allow for the following <br />flexibilities as detailed in Resolution No. 18-72. <br /> <br />1. Reduced road right-of-way width from 60 feet to 50 feet <br />2. Reduced front and rear setbacks from 30 feet to 25 feet; and <br /> <br />The rezoning is consistent with the Zoning Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan as well as the <br />adjacent Foxborough and Saddle Club conservation subdivisions. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The Planning & Zoning Board held a public hearing on May 9, 2018. Public comments included <br />concerns regarding increased traffic, speed, tree removal and wetland impacts. The Board voted
