1 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6A <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Katie Larsen, City Planner <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: July 23, 2018 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Consider 2nd Reading of Ordinance No. 09-18, Amending City <br />Code Chapter 1007 Related to Parking Regulations for Accessory <br />Outdoor Dining or Seating Facilities <br /> <br />*Council may vote to dispense with full reading of ordinance <br />* Roll call vote is required for adoption of the ordinance <br /> <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting City Council consideration of the 2nd reading of Ordinance No. 09-18, <br />amending City Code Chapter 1007 as it relates to accessory outdoor dining or seating facilities. <br />The 1st reading was approved by City Council on July 9, 2018. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Several restaurants in Lino Lakes have approached City staff regarding outdoor dining or <br />seating facilities in regards to parking requirements. The concern is that these restaurants would <br />be unable to add an outdoor seating area due to the current ordinance requiring that they <br />provide additional parking spaces. The issue discussed is whether these restaurants would be <br />able to add outdoor seating without the need for additional parking. Ordinance No. 09-18 <br />amends the current city ordinance regarding accessory outdoor dining or seating facilities, and <br />parking requirements. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff is recommending approval of the 2nd reading of Ordinance No. 09-18 <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
