1 <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 6A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, PE City Engineer <br />MEETING DATE: March 25, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution 24-20, Order Project, Approve the Plans and <br />Specifications and Authorize the Ad for Bid, 2024 Rejuvenator <br />Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting Council approval to Order the Project, Approve the Plans and Specifications, <br />and Authorize the Advertisement for Bids for the 2024 Rejuvenator Project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City’s 2024 Pavement Management Program includes a Street Rehabilitation Project and a <br />Street Maintenance Project. The Council awarded the Street Rehabilitation Project construction <br />contract at the February 12, 2024 Council meeting. The Street Maintenance Project includes <br />applying a maltene-based asphalt rejuvenator. Rejuvenators are a new product many Cities are <br />using in lieu of seal coating the City has completed three rejuvenator projects the past. As a <br />third project in 2024 staff is coordinating a crack fill project. The rejuvenator maintenance <br />project includes the following: <br />Area A: 4th Ave <br />Area B: Forsham Lake Dr, Stage Coach Tr, Post Rd <br />Area C: W Shadow Lake, Shadow Ct , Sandpiper Dr, <br />Area D: Fox Rd <br />Area E: Joyer Ln, Karth Rd, Talle Ln, Canfield, Gaage Ln <br />Area F: Dogwood St, Ivywood Ave, Butternut St <br />Area G: 21st Ave, Crane Dr, Balsam Way, Diamond Ln, Forest, Eden Cir, Emily Cir, <br />Watermark Way, Harriet Ln, Geneva Ct, Itasca Cir, Johanna Cir, Cass Dr, Ada Dr, Bay Dr, <br />Jasper Ct, Island Ct, Heron Ct, Gull Dr, Dora Dr, Elmo Ct, Fall Dr <br />The estimated total project cost including contingency and overhead is $223,000. The project is funded <br />through the Pavement Management Funds. <br />102
