CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 24-44 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CENTERVILLE LAKE ALUM TREATMENT COST-SHARE <br />AGREEMENT WITH RICE CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, poor water quality impacting recreational uses and ecological health of Centerville <br />Lake has been attributed to internal phosphorous loading; and <br />WHEREAS, the Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) has acquired $954,500 from the State of <br />Minnesota Clean Water Fund grant to be used for an aluminum sulfate treatment on <br />Centerville Lake to improve water quality; and <br />WHEREAS, the grant requires a 10% local match; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, RCWD has proposed a cost-share agreement between RCWD, the City of Centerville, <br />Anoka County, and the City of Lino Lakes to help cover the required local grant match; and <br />WHEREAS, each partner is being asked to contribute 22.6% of the local match, or $35,000, <br />whichever is lower; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lino Lakes, Minnesota that the <br />Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a cost-share agreement with <br />Rice Creek Watershed District to facilitate an alum treatment for Centerville Lake. <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 22nd day of April, 2024. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />___________________________ <br />Rob Rafferty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />___________________________ <br />Hannah Lynch, City Clerk <br />65
