CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 4A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Daniel L’Allier, Deputy Director-Fire <br />MEETING DATE: June 24, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Approve Agreement with City of Orono for Lease of <br />Tender 2 #610 <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff was contacted by Orono Fire Chief James Van Eyll with interest in leasing one of the Tenders we <br />have for sale. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Orono is currently in an agreement to have neighboring communities provide fire protection <br />for their city. They have elected to start their own Fire Department to provide fire protection services. <br />The start date for these services is July 1, 2024. <br />The City of Orono ordered a new fire apparatus with a delivery date of June 1, 2024. The vendor of this <br />fire apparatus informed the City of Orono that the fire apparatus that they ordered will be at least 60 <br />days late in delivery. Fire Chief Van Eyll contacted Lino Lakes staff inquiring if one of the Tenders we <br />have for sale could be leased until their new fire apparatus is delivered and operational. <br />The City of Orono has submitted an agreement that they would compensate the City of Lino Lakes <br />$2,000 a month for the use of one of our Tender 2 (Vehicle #610). The agreement is attached for your <br />review. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends entering into an agreement with the City of Orono to lease Tender 2 (Vehicle #610) as <br />outlined in the attached agreement. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Equipment Loan Agreement between the City of Lino Lakes and the City of Orono. <br />76 of 99
