CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 24-95 <br /> <br />REGARDING TECHNICAL SUFFICIENCY OF A PETITION UNDER CITY <br />CHARTER, CHAPTER 5. INITIATIVE, REFERENDUM AND RECALL, SECTION 5.03. <br />DETERMINATION OF SUFFICIENCY, FOR AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING <br />DEVELOPERS TO PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION OF PROVEN EXPERIENCE, <br />FINANCIAL HEALTH, LICENSING, CRIMINAL BACKGROUND, AND REPUTATION <br />SUBJECT TO APPROVAL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes is in receipt of a petition requesting an ordinance <br />amendment; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is required to review the petition for technical sufficiency against City <br />Charter, Chapter 5. Initiative, Referendum and Recall, Section 5.03. Determination of Sufficiency, <br />which sets forth the format required of the petition and the number of signatures; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the number of signatures required is at least five percent (5%) of registered <br />voters at the time of the last regular municipal election; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the number of required signatures exceeded the 5% required and the format <br />of the petition was determined to be sufficient upon review. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lino Lakes, Minnesota that the <br />petition for an Ordinance Requiring Developers to Provide Documentation of Proven Experience, <br />Financial Health, Licensing, Criminal Background, and Reputation Subject to Approval is hereby <br />determined to be technically sufficient. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney is directed to prepare a review of the <br />legal validity of the proposed ordinance for future consideration by the City Council. <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 8th day of July, 2024. <br /> <br />___________________________ <br />Rob Rafferty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />___________________________ <br />Roberta Colotti, CMC, City Clerk
