CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM 6C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, PE Project Engineer <br />MEETING DATE: August 12, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution 24-105, Accepting Quotes, 2024 Rejuvenator <br />Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting Council approval to accept quotes for the 2024 Rejuvenator Project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />On May 28, 2024 the City Council authorized the request for quotes for the 2024 Rejuvenator <br />Project. The project includes applying a rejuvenator product to the bituminous roads detailed <br />in the enclosed map. Rejuvenators are products designed to restore original properties to aged <br />(oxidized) asphalt thus reducing the loss of surface fines and the formation of additional cracks. <br />As part of this project, the product will be placed on the streets, followed by a sand so that the <br />roadway can remain open to vehicles. <br />Bids were received on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. The quotes were received as follows: <br />Contractor <br />Base Bid <br />Allied Blacktop Company <br />$136,000.00 <br />Corrective Asphalt Materials <br />Did not quote <br />The low bid was submitted by Allied Blacktop Company in the base bid amount of $136,000.00 <br />which is within the planned budget and is being recommended for award. Allied Blacktop <br />Company successfully completed the City's 2023 Crack Fill and Seal Coat Project. <br />The project is funded through the Pavement Management Funds. <br />
