CITY COUNCIL <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />ITEM NO. 3 <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Hannah Lynch, Finance Director <br />WORK SESSION DATE: August 26, 2024 <br />TOPIC: 2025 Annual Budget and 2025-2029 Financial Plan <br />BACKGROUND <br />At the August 12, 2024 Budget Work Session, staff gave an overview of the 2025 Annual Budget <br />and 2025-2029 Financial Plan followed by City Council discussion. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL DIRECTION <br />Staff is prepared to continue the discussion on the 2025 Annual Budget and 2025-2029 <br />Financial Plan with the City Council. <br />Budget work sessions may be scheduled at the discretion of the City Council to achieve the <br />desired budget level for 2025. Council action is requested by the September 23rd meeting <br />in order to set the preliminary tax levy and schedule a public hearing date. The preliminary levy <br />set at the September meeting may not be increased thereafter, but may be lowered before <br />approving the final budget and levy in December. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />None <br />1 <br />
