Current Language <br />1007.056(6)(a) subsection 14: <br />"No motor vehicle repair, paint or body work; commercial preparation of food for service <br />on the premise; business related to or involving explosives, ammunition or weapons; or <br />ambulance or related emergency services shall be permitted as a home occupation." <br />(Lakes, 2024) <br />Proposed Revision <br />1007.056(6)(a) subsection 14: <br />"No motor vehicle repair, paint or body work; commercial preparation of food for service <br />on the premise; business related to or involving explosives, ammunition or weapons; or <br />ambulance or related emergency services shall be permitted as a home occupation." <br />(Lakes, 2024) <br />With the removal of explosives, ammunition or weapons, this would allow for the <br />Bureau of Alcohol Tabacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to monitor and regulate <br />businesses that choose to work with explosives, ammunition, or weapons. This would <br />subsequently allow the ATF to monitor and revoke any licenses and have more <br />transparency into the business of firearms. The removal of this verbiage would not allow <br />for weapons, explosives, and ammunition to be manufactured or sold without a Federal <br />Firearms License (FFL). <br />Current Business Activities and Requirements <br />Customer Frequency <br />The current frequency of customers at my house is on a scheduled basis where an <br />appointment needs to be setup by the customer to ensure that I would be able to assist in <br />the transfer of a firearm. I have had only a handful of customers but not additional <br />noticeable traffic or pickups would occur at the home due to this change. <br />Licensing overview <br />Currently my business is licensed with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tabacco, Firearms, <br />and Explosives with a type 7 Federal Firearms License. Below I will describe more about <br />what this means. Currently there are no state licenses that I need to obtain other than <br />sustaining my LLC which isn’t necessary for obtaining an FFL. <br />There are more restrictions on my type of FFL specifically with the International <br />Traffic in Arms Regulations or ITAR for short.
