CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 24-96 <br />REGARDING TECHNICAL SUFFICIENCY OF A PETITION UNDER MINNESOTA <br />STATE STATUTE 410.12 FOR A CHARTER AMENDMENT, ADDING A NEW SECTION <br />1.04 TO CHARTER CHAPTER I, "SEGREGATION PROHIBITED" <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes is in receipt of a petition requesting Charter <br />amendment; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is required to review the petition for technical sufficiency against <br />Minnesota State Statute 410.12, Subd. 2. Petitions, which sets forth the format required of the <br />petition and the number of signatures; and <br />WHEREAS, the number of signatures required is at least five percent (5%) of the total <br />votes cast at the last previous state general election in the city; and <br />WHEREAS, the number of required signatures exceeded the 5% required and the format <br />of the petition was determined to be sufficient upon review. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lino Lakes, Minnesota that the <br />petition for a Charter Amendment, Adding a New Section 1.04 to Charter Chapter I, "Segregation <br />Prohibited", is hereby determined to be technically sufficient. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney is directed to prepare a review of the <br />legal validity of the proposed Charter Amendment for future consideration by the City Council. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 8t" day of July, 2024. <br />r <br />Rib R- erty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Cyr <br />Roberta Colotti, CMC, City Clerk <br />
