Currently, his business <br />is licensed with ATF and has a Federal Firearms License (FFL) type 7. <br />Previous Zoning Ordinance <br />In 2010, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 01-10 which amended the zoning ordinance <br />related to home occupation. That ordinance included the language prohibiting any business <br />involving explosives, ammunition or weapons as a home occupation. Staff reviewed previous <br />staff reports and minutes and did not find any particular reason why this language was added. <br />ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) <br />The ATF is the federal agency that regulates explosives, ammunition and weapons. Per their <br />website What We Do I Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (at£gov) and <br />attached, ATF's responsibilities include the investigation and prevention of federal offenses <br />involving the unlawful use, manufacture, and possession of firearms and explosives; acts of <br />arson and bombings; and illegal trafficking of alcohol and tobacco products. The ATF also <br />regulates, via licensing, the sale, possession, and transportation of firearms, ammunition, and <br />explosives in interstate commerce. <br />Public Safety <br />Lino Lakes Public Safety reviewed the proposed text amendment and have no objection. <br />Other Communities <br />Per the applicant's narrative, neighboring cities do not restrict the use of explosives, <br />ammunition or weapons as part of their home occupation. <br />Planning & Zoning Board <br />
