Consider Resolution No. 24-151, Approving Summary <br />Publication of Ordinance No. 14-24 <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 4/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting City Council consideration of the 2nd Reading of Ordinance No. 14-24 <br />Vacating a portion of 77th Street lying between Marilyn Drive and Lake Drive. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City has planned, for a long time, to realign 77t" Street with Market Place Drive. This is in <br />coordination with Anoka County to improve mobility on Lake Drive and provide safer access to <br />adjacent neighborhoods. In 2025, the City plans to complete the construction of the realign <br />77t" Street at Market Place Drive. This project is in coordination with the Lino Lakes 2.0 <br />development. <br />The City held a public hearing on November 12, 2024 for the 77th Street vacate where there <br />were concerns from some of the residents on Marilyn Drive. In response staff is evaluating <br />some of the proposed considerations for traffic calming. <br />The Vacation Description Sketch prepared by Design Tree, Inc. dated September 9, 2024 <br />details the proposed area to be vacated. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending approval of the 2nd Reading of Ordinance No. 14-24 Vacating a portion <br />of 77th Street lying between Marilyn Drive and Lake Drive and Resolution 24-151 Approving <br />Summary Publication of Ordinance 14-24. <br />
