Lino Lakes City Council <br />Work Session <br />Minutes <br />DATE: February 24, 2025 <br />TIME STARTED: 6:00 P.M. <br />TIME ENDED: 6:25 P.M. <br />LOCATION: Community Room <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Rafferty Councilmembers Cavegn, Lyden, Stoesz and <br />Ruhland <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: None <br />Staff Members Present: Interim City Administrator Dave Pecchia, City Clerk Roberta Colotti, <br />Community Development Director Michael Grochala, and City Engineer Diane Hankee. <br />1. Call to Order and Roll Call <br />Mayor Rafferty called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br />2. Setting the Agenda: Addition or Deletion of Agenda Items <br />The agenda was adopted as presented. <br />3. Administration Update <br />The Interim City Administrator reported that 23 applications have been received to date <br />and the closing date is next Tuesday for the City Administrator position recruitment. The <br />consultant will present a slate of candidates on March 24th to the Council and the <br />Council will be asked to narrow the list of candidates to be extended an interview. April <br />15th is the date identified to hold the interviews. <br />The City Administrator presented the following operations updates: <br />• Reviewed focus of weekly meetings with department managers and follow-up <br />meetings with individual departments. Noting that this process was in place and <br />continues to be used. <br />• A.W.A.R.E. safety training has been setup for employees. <br />• Reviewed current, discussions with Public Works Superintendent Justin Williams <br />regarding staffing levels and operations. <br />• On February 18th the firefighters met to discuss the Citygate mid -point report. <br />They discussed what the report meant to their department. The Human <br />Resource Department will be putting together costs for staffing options for the <br />police and fire departments for future discussion by the Council regarding the <br />Citygate report. <br />• The Interim City Administrator and Fire Chief met with White Bear Township <br />regarding the fire department contract services for the north and west portions <br />of the Township. This is not something for the immediate time, it would be a <br />future consideration. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
