CITY COUNCIL <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Item 10 <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Roberta Colotti, CIVIC, City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: May 5, 2025 <br />TOPIC: Liquor License Fees <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Business license renewal time is approaching, and the City has received a request from a local <br />restaurant to split the payment of the annual license fee. The City Attorney has advised that the <br />City Council can provide consensus direction regarding the timing of the payment and as long as <br />the payment amount is not amended the fee chart does not need to be revised. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Liquor licenses run from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The On -Sale Intoxicating Liquor License <br />fee is $4,500 per year and the Sunday Sales license fee is $200 per year. It is requested that <br />applicants for On -Sale Intoxicating Liquor and Sunday Sales licenses be allowed to make <br />payment at the time of application of half of the amount due with final payment of the <br />remaining balance by or before December 31, 2025. The original invoice will be sent with the <br />total amount due, and the split payment will be made available upon request. <br />This option has been reviewed by the City Finance Department and is acceptable. This option is <br />being requested to support our local businesses. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Consensus direction to approve a split payment for On -Sale Intoxicating Liquor and Sunday <br />Sales licenses with half payment due at the time of application and half payment due by or <br />before December 31, 2025, upon request of the applicant. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />None <br />
