The overall intent of maintenance is to maintain/improve conveyance capacity and <br />improve water quality entering Ameila Lake. City maintenance would be subject to the <br />provisions of easements, by the owners, at no cost to the City. The property owners <br />expressed some interest in the exchange but wanted time to consider. Staff will reach <br />out to the property owners in two to three months to gauge interest. <br />9. Water Treatment Plant Construction — Building Setback <br />The Community Development Director introduced Jon Christensen, PE, WSB and Brian <br />Bourassa. <br />Mr. Christensen stated that the City's new Water Treatment Plant building, located at <br />6590 12th Avenue S., was intended to have a 50' setback from the right-of-way boundary <br />on Birch Street and on 121h Avenue S. The actual building currently under construction <br />has a 46' setback from the right-of-way boundary on Birch Street. He reported that the <br />building and associated sitework shift was caused by a data conversion process error at <br />the start of the design phase of the project. <br />The Community Development Director stated that based on the WSB review it appears <br />that the primary issue will be conformance with the zoning code. The property is in the <br />PSP, Public/Semi Public zoning district. The setback from a major collector or arterial <br />street is 50 feet. He presented four options to correct the issue. <br />Council Consensus <br />It was the consensus of the City Council to direct staff to pursue option #3 "Amend the <br />Zoning Ordinance requirement in the PSP District". <br />10. Notices and Communications <br />Mayor Rafferty reported that the next VLAMO meeting is in a few weeks. <br />Councilmember Stoesz questioned when the North Metro TV report would be <br />presented. <br />The City Administrator reported that a date has not been announced for the meeting. <br />Mayor Rafferty extended his appreciation to the public safety personnel who responded <br />to the Baldwin Lake rescue. <br />11.
