CITY COUNCIL <br />REGULAR MEETING STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA ITEM SPECIAL PRESENTATION B <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Dave Pecchia, Interim City Administrator <br />MEETING DATE: May 12, 2025 <br />TOPIC: 111 Reading of Ordinance No. 07-25 Providing for a Police <br />Department <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The City Council is being asked to consider the 1st Reading of Ordinance No. 07-25 Providing for <br />a Police Department. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Staff have been in the process of implementing recommendations outlined in the Citygate <br />report which included establishing a separate Police Department and Fire Department. <br />Therefore, we request the adoption of Ordinance No. 07- 25 which creates the Lino Lakes Police <br />Department. The new ordinance aligns with the current organizational structure. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of 1st Reading of Ordinance No. 07-25 Providing for a Police <br />Department. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Ordinance No 07-25 <br />1 <br />
